Twinning LC AGH Kraków - LC Ghent

14.07.2017 - 19.07.2017

In July our Local Committee was visited by over 20 people from IAESTE Ghent. They were picked up form the airport by our coordinator and then they were accommodated in ‘Olimp’ dormitory. In the afternoon members of our LC prepared a city game for our guests. Majority of tasks were located in Old Town. After all, we had a welcome party in our office, which was connected with Polish Evening. We prepared for them some polish delights and traditional polish alcohol - wodka.

The next day we did the sightseeing some museums including Wawel Castle, Historical Museum of the City of Krakow and Oskar Schindler’s Factory. Saturday evening party was called ‘Belgian evening’ and it took place also in our office. Our guests made delicious waffles (we have a recipe :O ) and brought some delicious Belgian beer. On Sunday morning we had some free time for ourselves and after dinner we took a trip to Wieliczka Salt Mine. Participants had a chance to travel through the tourist trail, which took about 3,5 hours. On Monday we had a trip to Auschwitz-Birkenau. It was a terrifying lesson of history for our friends. They were very agitated because of what they saw.

On Tuesday we went to the mountains, to see most popular lake in Tatra Mountains - Morskie Oko Lake. It was about nine km walk from our bus to the destination. In our way back to Krakow we started a party in our bus. We drunk some alcohol and play party games. It was last evening in Poland for our guests. It wasn’t a long party. Because of their flight we had to finish too early. On Wednesday morning they had to be at the airport. Participants were satisfied and happy after Twinning. We had a lot of fun together at parties and also during sightseeing and travelling. We have plenty of great memories, photos and new friendships. We all can't look forward for the next meeting with them.

Twinning LC AGH Kraków - LC Brno

25.03.2017 - 27.03.2017

Me and twelve other members of LC Kraków came to Brno on 25th March. All of us arrived there by PolskiBus. Kuba – the chairman of LC Brno - met us at the bus station and helped in buying tickets for public transport in Brno. Then we headed out to their office to leave our luggage and join the rest of Czechs. They were very joyful and open people whom we loved instantly. We went to the restaurant Na Purkyňce to try traditional Czech dishes for a breakfast. Later our new friends took us to the city center for sightseeing. We started from Spilberk Castle. It’s situated on a prominence so the sights there were just magnificent. We could see whole city from above. After that we visited the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul which is one of the well known antiquity in Czech Republic. The last place we went to was the Namesti Svobody – the main square of Brno. We took there a photo with the famous astronomical clock (unfortunately nobody was able to read the current time). Meanwhile the persons eager to eat some sweets could buy an authentic Czech cake in the local baker. Well, it wasn’t the end of our day. It wouldn’t be as great as it was if we hadn’t have some more integration so we went to dormitories to check in and started a barbecue which was actually prepared and waited for us to join. The next thing was pretty interesting. We divided into five teams to go to the city center for pub crawling. We had a great time drinking tasty Czech beer and performing different tasks in subsequent pubs. That day ended in one of the night clubs. The second day of twinning started with the breakfast in the office followed by the presentation of the activity of LC Brno. Then we went to VIDA! Science Center. It’s a place where you can learn some interesting facts about our world and see how they work, often even experience them. We had very nice time there. The very last place to visit was the restaurant placed in the city center where we all had a goodbye dinner. From there we went back to the bus station which was the end of that amazing twinning spended with wonderful people. I hope we’ll see again someday.

Twinning LC AGH Kraków - LC ITU

09.01.2015 - 11.01.2015

Between 9th and 11th of January our Local Committee was visited by 17 people from IAESTE Istanbul. It was first in the history Twinning of these two cities, so we were very happy to have an opportunity to invite people from LC ITU. Our guests stayed at 'B Movie' hostel. We picked them up from the bus station about 6 p.m. and then checked them in. In the evening we ate supper at 'CK browar' pub and then we had a welcome party in 'Insomnia' club.

On Saturday we did a trip to Wieliczka Salt Mine. Participants had a chance to travel the tourist route, which took 3,5 hours. Then we had dinner in the restaurant 'Królewska', also in Wieliczka. After coming back to Kraków there was a time for a little bit rest and preparation for International Evening, which took place in our office at 8.30 p.m. We had prepared for our guests a lot of polish delights, some alcohol, polish music and traditional party games. This evening wouldn't be the same without our special IAESTE dance and 'Tunak' dance. Everybody was dancing together and having fun. Also we had some gifts for guys from Turkey - souvenirs from Poland. Then we went to 'Concept Music Club' for the afterparty.

On Sunday we took patricipants for a walking trip around the Wawel Castle and Vistula River. They had an opportunity to get to know facts about the castle and the legend about the Wawel Dragon. Of course we took plenty of funny photos. Although windy weather everybody was satisfied with the trip. After that we ate traditional polish dinner in the restaurant 'Koko' and then dessert in 'Manufacture of chocolate'. Unfortunately everybody was exhausted, so we resigned from the ice rink and instead of it we took some rest. During the visit in Poland it is essential to try dumplings (pierogi), so we went to 'Zapiecek' for supper. In the evening we did a trip to the Jewish Quarter and we had beer in 'Artefakt' pub.

Participants were satisfied and very happy after Twinning. We all had a lot of fun together at parties and also during sightseeing and walking. We have plenty of great memories and photos, which make our Twinning unforgettable.

Twinning LC AGH Kraków - LC Graz

30.12.2014 - 02.01.2015

It's a true that the world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page, but sometimes we have this great opportunity to hear a part of story told by someone else. That's the reason why we like Twinnings so much - meeting interesting people and learning new things about different countries and their culture are always a big pleasure.

This time was not an exception. 12 amazing people from LC Graz were visiting Kraków between 30th of December 2014 and 3rd of January 2015. During the Twinning we provided a lot of attractions for our guests, such as sightseeing, bowling, International Evening (where everybody had a chance to taste traditional polish food and alcohol) and a lot of parties - including 2-days New Year's Party (which actually was also a theme party, so everybody had to dress up like the gangsters). It's hard to sum up such a good event - we all had a great time.

We ate together, walked together, danced together, played a stupid games together and laughed together. Last day at the railway station we didn't say goodbye because we were sure we would meet again soon. Some memories are unforgettable and this Twinning will be definitely one of them.

Twinning LC AGH Kraków - LC Dresden

16.05.2012 - 19.05.2012

People from Dresden were accommodated in Footbal Corner Hostel after arrival. They ate supper and then we took them to the Main Square. We spent time on discussions and integration. Our Guests could also try different kinds of Polish beers and do karaoke.

Saturday was the most busy day. After breakfast, about 10 in the morning, we took them at the Vistula, where water tram was waiting for them. It took them one hour on a cruise along the Vistula. After cruise a City Game started. During City Game guests saw the most interesting places in Kraków, mainly Main Square, as well as Jewish District, where they could try polish vodka and the most popular Zapiekanki in Kraków. After City Game they ate dinner at the restaurant with great view at the old town. Next it was a demonstration of the production of candy, where every participant got a small gift. There was a free time after exciting day. There was the Wine Festival at the Small Square, so they went there too. After dinner, party started. Everyone was dancing to the rhythms of Bollywood. It was competition for the best costume and Bollywood dance. The event lasted (finished) until morning.

On Sunday, all who still had strength went on a Kosciuszko Mound which has a beautiful view on Kraków. Next we took them to dinner and then they had time for relax. At the evening we prepared barbecue for them on the Student City AGH and took them for goodbye beer. On Monday before midday, part of our guest left but if someone wanted to stay longer was probably still going to the Schindler's Museum.

And that's all. They were very pleased and had a positive impression.
